hi there!
Where do you wish you could go?
I’m a producer, Pilot and volunteer.
Helping people through the hardest times
I offer free flights to people in England going through difficult times. I also help children with cancer in Myanmar get to hospital, more than 8,000 journeys so far. I was honoured to be a BBC Make a Difference Awards finalist for this work.
Free Flights in England
Because I’m a private pilot, when the weather allows, I offer free flights to people going through difficult times. It’s a chance for them to spend a day away with their family, seek support, or make precious and lasting memories.
When I started in 2018, I flew families of children being treated for cancer. These days, I fly people facing all sorts of challenges, from financial hardship and loneliness to life-threatening conditions. Even rescue dogs are welcome aboard!
Getting to Hospital
in Myanmar
Only one hospital in Myanmar is fully equipped to treat children with cancer. For most families, the journey there takes an average of 12 hours. Some travel for days.
Since 2015, I've helped make more than 8,000 of these journeys possible, whether that's giving a family the money for public transport or arranging private transport in remote and war-affected areas.
People, places and a plane
Fernando’s Logbook
As you might guess, I love to travel and fly. But the places are only half of it. Wherever I land, it's the people I meet who stay with me, and that's why I created Fernando's Logbook.
It's a newsletter and podcast about human stories, told from the places I reach in my small plane. Some episodes are about the people I fly with. Others help you plan your own trip, whether it's a weekend away or a longer break.
