How I Can Help
Most of us get our license and then... we get stuck. We fly to the same three airfields, eat the same café breakfast, and look out at the coast thinking, "One day, I’ll cross that water." But bridging the gap between "planning" and actually "taking off" can be daunting. Maybe the tech feels like a puzzle, or you’ve realized that owning SkyDemon or ForeFlight is one thing, but truly mastering them for a complex trip is another. Whether you want to finally unlock the full potential of your flight planning apps or navigate the logistics of a trip to the Continent, it shouldn't feel like a mountain you have to climb alone.
Sometimes, you just want to learn from someone who has been out there doing it for a while—someone who knows the reality of the adventure, not just the theory.
I’m Fernando, a private pilot flying across the UK and Europe. I’m not an instructor or a flight examiner; I’m a peer. I created Fernando’s Logbook as a space for all of us, a place where we can talk honestly about the challenges, the gear, and the destinations that make GA flying worth the effort.

I’ve been using both apps for over 10 years across thousands of miles of VFR and IFR flying. Instead of spending hours clicking through menus, I can show you exactly how to set up your flight, manage weight and balance, file flight plans, and use the "hidden" features that actually make a difference when you’re busy in the cockpit.

We can spend the session getting you up to speed with SkyDemon or ForeFlight so you actually feel comfortable using them in the air, or we can walk through the paperwork and border procedures that used to stress me out.
I’ll also share the "insider" details I’ve picked up—like which hotels are actually pilot-friendly, the best restaurants near the strip, and the destinations that are truly worth the trip. It’s just a ground-based chat to help you feel a bit more prepared for your next take-off.
